Energy- and Carbon Accounting for organisations

CO2focus offers an extensive platform for climate management. One of the main elements in climate management is the preparation of your organisations´ carbon accounting.

Our model is based on the international standard the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Initiative (The GHG Protocol), which is the most widely used accounting tool to manage greenhouse gas emissions. The standard was developed through a decade-long partnership between businesses, governments, and environmental groups around the world and was in 2006 used as the basis for the ISO standard 14064-I.

CO2focus has recently developed CEMAsys©, a web-based energy, travel, waste, water and carbon accounting platform. The system is being used by all our clients, read more about it here.

A successful climate strategy will always include a corporate energy- and greenhouse gas inventory. Our tools are tailored to be used in the reporting to for example CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project), GRI, UN Global Compact and used with an environmental management system like ISO 14001 and EMAS.

The GHG protocol builds the climate reporting on three scopes of direct and indirect emissions, covering the six main greenhouse gases CO2, CH4 (methane), N2O (nitrous oxide), SF6 (Sulfur hexafluoride), HFCs and PFCs (Hydro- and perfluorocarbons):
