CO2focus collaborates with the Dutch energy company Eneco B.V. The partnership allows us to offer top quality UN approved and Gold Standard certified carbon credits.
Presentation of Eneco:
"Eneco B.V. is a Dutch integrated energy company specialised in the production, trading, transmission and supply of gas, electricity and heat and related services.
With over 7.000 employees, the company serves two million business and domestic customers. That makes Eneco one of the top three energy companies in the Netherlands. The shares are held by 61 Dutch municipalities. The head office is located in Rotterdam. Eneco has adopted a sustainable strategy and aims to play a leading role in the transition to a completely sustainable energy supply. Eneco aims for a completely sustainable energy supply in 2030.
Eneco has an exceptional track record in sustainable energy production and in global carbon markets. We purchase and market carbon credits: EUAs, CERs, ERUs and VERs. We provide project development services and financing arrangements for project owners, project developers and carbon aggregators.
In 2010 – Eneco and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) established a close cooperation. Their agreement entails that Eneco becomes the first Climate Saver in the Netherlands.
Companies that participate in the international Climate Savers Programme agree targets with WWF concerning the reduction of their CO2 emissions and the use and production of clean energy. Eneco is the first energy company in the world to obtain the title of Climate Saver.
The partnership between Eneco and WWF goes further than the Climate Savers Programme alone. Eneco will also support WWF's Heart of Borneo Project, which aims to protect the orang-utan. In addition, the two will develop a concept for the city of the future. This will result in a pilot project in which the sustainability of the energy supply in a still to be selected district or city will be optimised. Furthermore, the two partners, with nearly 2 million Eneco customers and nearly 1 million WFF donors, will be able to stimulate more people to save energy, to use green energy and to participate in sustainability projects. Several activities will be developed for this purpose."
